You don't play with this metal pick. It has a clip on it that you slide a regular pick into so you can carry it around like a fashion statement and also have a pick to play with if the occasion ever arises. Plus if you lose your pick, the metal part looks like a pick so you can keep rockin the look.

Ok. I got the pick as a gift a couple of years ago. Just the pick. In brass. The idea of having one around my neck sounds cool and handy. Based on that, I would give the steel one a try. Why the steel instead of the brass? Because the brass discolors, gets nicks and even retains fingerprints (from the acids in our skin, I suppose). Nevertheless, it looks gnarly. For those who think a bare wood worn Strat looks good...don't worry about the brass. You'll like it. But the really cool thing is that I've had this pick for over a couple of years! It's about as thin/thick as my .73 Dunlop Ultex's, but it doesn't flex. Because of the lack of flex, in an unplugged guitar ('cause that's how I'm sitting here tonight with a pile of picks comparing 'em), they sound more muted like a heavy Dunlop. But also, because of the metal property, they chime a bit as the pick touches the string. A little trippy. They add a nice element and some variety to the music. I'm a bit concerned about the durability of the pick's necklace release. But hey, if ya hate the tone...the looks are righteous!

DO NOT BUY THIS. The quick release system is basically a littl hook that goes through a hole in the hook. So if you jump up and down it will come out ( I lost it the first day). And then when i found it and tryed playing with the pick, it broke strings like crazy!!! DONT BUY IT
